I have been reading other studios' websites lately. Not to catch anyone out. I read them the way you read a room you are about to work in, and I want to write down what I noticed without any unkindness, because most of these are decent people doing careful work.
They mostly say the same thing.

Read fifteen of them in a row and something odd happens. You stop being able to tell them apart. Not the design — the words. Cover the logos and I could not tell you which company was which, because every one had described a service and none had described a point of view.
I think I understand why. That language is the safe language. It has been polished for twenty years and it offends nobody, and a business that is trying not to lose will reach for the sentence that cannot be argued with. The trouble is that a sentence nobody can argue with is also a sentence nobody remembers.
So the field is a wall of sameness. Not because anyone was lazy. Because everyone was careful.
I don't think that is a problem, though. I think it is the opening. When every voice has been sanded smooth, saying something specific — specific enough that a person could actually disagree with it — starts to stand out on its own.
So I try to. I will tell you what you don't need. I will talk you out of the rebrand. You own everything I build. Some people will read that and go elsewhere, and that is fine — I would rather help them find the right fit than pretend I am it.
The rest might remember me. That is about all I am after.
